Sean Forbes Interview

Alum Sean Forbes (PhD 2011), who is the Director of our Creative Writing Program and is author of Providencia: A Book of Poems (2013), was interviewed by Rodrigo Joseph Rodríguez for Pennsylvania Literary Journal 7.2 (Summer 2015). In “Diasporas and Poetics: A Conversation with Poet Sean Frederick Forbes,” Rodríguez notes that Sean “offers lenses to various cultures, diasporas, geographies, histories, and world languages that inform his poetics.”

 

Dyan Elliott Presentation

“Corrupter of Boys: The Medieval Church and Child Abuse.” Wednesday, Sept. 9, at 4pm in the Stern Lounge (Austin 217).

Dyan Elliott, Charles Owen Visiting Professor, is the Peter B. Ritzma Professor of the Humanities and Professor of history at Northwestern. She is the author of four books on topics of medieval gender, spirituality, and sexuality, most recently The Bride of Christ Goes to Hell: Metaphor and Embodiment in the Lives of Pious Women (2012). Professor Elliot’s talk draws on new research for a monograph on medieval scandal.
