On Tuesday, May 20, the Connecticut Writing Project will be hosting a Recognition Night to celebrate the publication of its twentieth edition of Connecticut Student Writers, which publishes student writing from kindergarten through high school.  The event will be held from 5 till 7 at Jorgensen Auditorium.  It will be catered by Lizzie Searing.  The keynote speaker will be award winning children's book author Barbara McClintock.  The event is free.  Come see the students read their original work.

In their Annual Review of the CWP's Annual Report, the National Writing Project praised the Storrs site for its successful emergence "from its reorganization process," and awarded a full matching grant of $43,000 for the 2008-09 year. 

Ellen Litman is a finalist for the LA Times Art Seidenbaum Award for First Fiction for her book The Last Chicken in America.

Sydney Plum has been nominated for the 2008 Orion Book Award for her book Solitary Goose.
