Joel Kaye: The History of Ideas, c. 1250-1375

Humanities Institute: Friday, 5 December, 12:30

Joel Kaye of Barnard College will present “The History of Ideas, c. 1250-1375, through the Lens of the History of Balance.” The discussion will center on Kaye’s new book, A History of Balance, c.1250-1375: The Emergence of a New Model of Equilibrium and Its Impact on Thought. We are excited about bringing a prominent scholar of the history of ideas who is eager to engage a broader audience beyond his own field. So that we can hold a seminar-style discussion, we ask the audience to read the Introduction to his book, if possible. For more information, please contact Fiona Somerset,

Coffee and cookies will be served, and you are welcome to bring your lunch.
