Kerry Carnahan is currently an ABD PhD candidate in English at UConn. From 2020-2021 she was a Dissertation Fellow at the UConn Humanities Institute (UCHI) and in 2021-2022 she is President of the English Graduate Student Association (EGSA). Previous to UConn she worked as an engineer and environmentalist.
Carnahan’s research interests are interdisciplinary and oriented toward contributing antiracist and decolonial literary translations of biblical texts. Her interests include:
- Creative Writing
- Gender and Sexuality
- Religious Studies
- Hebrew Bible/Old Testament
Her teaching interests include all the above. They also include 20th and 21st Century American Literature, World Literature, LGBTQ literature, and applied ecological thinking. In the 2020-2021 UCHI Fellow’s Talk, the Dissertation Research Scholar discusses her translation of the Song of Song.
