Current Research: Clare Eby is presently working on two very different projects that span two centuries: the collision of cool capital and hot emotion in the 21st-century American novel; and the efforts of Progressive era women writers (such as anthropologist Elsie Clews Parsons and anarchist Emma Goldman) to use journalism as a feminist and activist alternative to the muckraking exposé.
