Mary K. Bercaw Edwards

Mary K. Bercaw Edwards is an Associate Professor of English and the director of Maritime Studies at UConn, Avery Point. She is currently researching the storytelling that arose on both sides of encounters in the South Pacific between travelers and the indigenous people of the islands. Her most recent book, Sailor Talk: Labor, Utterance, and Meaning in the Works of Melville, Conrad, and London was published by Liverpool University Press in March 2021.
