Samadrita Kuiti is a PhD candidate (ABD) finishing up her interdisciplinary dissertation on feminist and queer utopian spaces in postcolonial works of literatures from South Asia and Africa.
Her research & teaching interests overlap continuously and primarily reside at the intersections of postcolonial & utopian theories, gender & sexuality studies, & modern transnational literatures, particularly South Asian, African, and diasporic literatures.
She also serves as the current Communications Director for the Northeast Modern Language Association’s (NeMLA) Graduate Student Caucus. In AY 2020-21, she served as the Chair of the EGSA Professional Development Committee. Her research/writing has either appeared in or is forthcoming from peer-reviewed journals such as South Asian Review, Utopian Studies and magazines such as Warscapes and the Flash Fiction Magazine among others.
